What is Probability?

Probability is the study of likelihood and chance.

It is a relatively new discipline in mathematics but is becoming increasingly important. The study of probability begins early in primary school through using the language of chance. In secondary school, statistics and probability are taught from Year 7 to Year 12.

Why study Probability?

Probability is integrally linked with statistics and is mandatory study for many degrees at university. Having a good understanding of probability and statistics in high school will assist with these requirements.
